2020 (13 Nov) Gay Wharton, 58, died after she was hit by a car as she crossed Chorley New Road at lunchtime on Friday.

Cllr Martin Donaghy, a close friend and former colleague, made Mrs Wharton one of his mayoresses during his time as Mayor of Bolton in 2014.
